EmergencyPetID operates a digital platform that lets pet owners store and share emergency information via QR tags and wallet cards.

- Your name
- Email address
- Password (encrypted – we never see this)
b) Pet information
- Pet name, breed, species, colour, age
- Medical notes
- Vet details
- Optional photo
c) Emergency contact information
- Names and phone numbers of people you choose to list
- Information you decide to display on the public scanning page
d) Technical data
- IP address
- Device type
- Browser information
- Access logs for security
e) Payment information
Payment processing is handled securely by our payment provider Stripe. We never store or process your full card details on our own servers.
3. How we use your information
We use your data to:
- Provide and maintain your EmergencyPetID account
- Generate and manage your QR tags and wallet card
- Display the information you choose on the public scan page
- Contact you regarding account activity, billing or security
- Improve our service and prevent misuse
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers for their own marketing.
4. What others see when they scan your QR tag
Only the information you choose to display becomes visible when someone scans your QR tag or wallet card.
Common examples include:
- Pet name
- Medical or allergy notes
- Vet details
- Emergency phone number you select
Your home address is hidden by default.
5. Legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR, we process your personal data using the following lawful bases:
- Contract – to provide the Service you subscribe to
- Consent – for information you choose to display publicly
- Legitimate interests – service improvements, analytics and fraud protection
- Legal obligation – financial records and compliance with applicable laws
6. Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely on AWS UK/EU servers. We use security measures such as:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS)
- Access controls and authentication
- Audit logging
- Regular security reviews
7. How long we keep your data
We retain your information only as long as necessary:
- Active account data – kept while your subscription is active
- Deleted accounts – securely removed from active systems within approximately 30–90 days
- Transactional and legal records – retained for up to 6 years where required by UK law

EmergencyPetID is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
